Fragments

The fragments are micro-cutting of sedums intended to be sowed on an adapted substratum. The cutting in contact with the substratum produce roots and then get fed with water and nutrients to colonise the entire surface. The period of seedling are from March to June and from September to November.

Laying

In the first place, it is necessary to strongly water the substratum (height of the complex: 8cm). The seedling is made with the help of fragments (0.5 to 3cm long) with a density of 100 to 200 g/m2. Depending on the climatic conditions, some watering must be made after the laying of seedlings. It prevents from the drying up of the fragments. Each intervention permits to control the good distribution and rooting of the fragments.

Maintenance

After one month, a verification of the watering and the weeding is highly recommended. An observation of weeding growth is necessary during the first year (2 to 3 visits to plan during the year).
